The Seehund discovered by the team under the Goodwin Sands in unlikely to be recovered. Subsequent to being scuttled and after the crew were safely taken prisoner the sands slowly moved over the vessel locking it away from prying eyes. The torpedoes are absent – perhaps unsuccessfully launched against allied shipping? (Records confirming this have not yet been discovered).
Likewise the Perspex dome has long since gone. The hatch remains closed but the interior is probably full of water and sand. The team has placed a small plaque on the platform identifying the wreck for interested visitors and will continue to monitor the site and carry on its research. In time it is likely to be reclaimed by the ever moving sand banks once again.
